It is no understatement that Lance Stroll from Racing Point has not left the best impression on the Formula 1 viewing audience in recent races. At Autosport.com, the team, owned by Stroll's father, reports that the driver is suffering from a lack of confidence which they attribute to his sickbed earlier in the season.
Stroll's last points were earned in Italy more than two months ago. His subsequent GPs have been marked by crashes and failures. He also missed the Eifel GP because he was infected with the coronavirus. His team points to this as the reason for his poor performance.
‘The illness did knock it out of him, for sure. That's something that we hadn't really foreseen. We had heard about the length of time it can take to recover from the illness, and I think it is taking some time’, the team explains.

Stroll should believe in himself again

"He's obviously taken quite a battering physically and mentally”, Racing Point admits. "I think he just needs to get his confidence back again, and believe in himself again. And we'll get the Lance back that we had for the first two-thirds of the season."

Nothing to do with confidence and all to do with skill levels. Sometimes, people just to accept that a certain level of proficiency is all they can achieve. If that level is as good as you can do something, then there is no point trying to improve on it any further as you have hit your ultimate skill level. How ever much money you throw at it, wont improve it any further.
