Kimi Raikkonen is expected to avoid another engine change after being told to stop the car during the Spanish Grand Prix. It was his second retirement of the 2018 season.
On lap 26, Raikkonen seemed to lose all power. A worrying issue for the Italian team to experience seeing as they are only allowed 3 units during the season.
It is believed that a wiring problem caused the loss of power to the Ferrari car. If this is true, it means a complete change is not needed.
This comes as delightful news for the Italians having already replaced Kimi’s internal combustion engine, turbocharger and MGU-H earlier in Spain.
Ferrari wanted to bring in an engine upgrade on both cars after the Monaco Grand Prix. But as Kimi has already required a replacement, he will have to wait a little longer.
Sebastian Vettel is still on time to receive the engine upgrade in Canada.
