Red Bull is targetting aerodynamic developments to bring to the Chinese Grand Prix after the team slumped to a fourth and eighth-place finish in Bahrain.

After the race, both drivers commented that the RB15 lacked the consistency both desired, leading to a difficult car to drive with Pierre Gasly, in particular, struggling the most.

The team's motorsport advisor Dr Helmut Marko has revealed that the team is solely focused on improving their aero performance as Formula 1 heads to China for the 1000th race in the championship's history.

"It's not a conceptual problem, but a detail thing – and it's not for the first time it has happened. But the wind in Bahrain multiplied it.

"We do know the cause, yes. But the extent to which we can correct this for China is not clear as of today. At the very latest for Barcelona it should be done."

With the team's switch to Honda power, the acclimatisation to the new power unit has gone relatively smoothly. However, setting up a car that has not struggled so much on power akin to the Renault power unit the team used last season has presented a problem it hopes the updates address.
