The person who does the graphics for
Formula 1 is probably in need of a break. During the podium ceremony after the
Austrian Grand Prix, the names of the drivers and their teams were completely mixed up, which made for a remarkable but funny image.
F1 completely wrong with names of drivers
If the graphic is to be believed it was not
Charles Leclerc who won the race, but
Sergio Perez. Moreover, the Mexican did so in the service of
Ferrari.
Carlos Sainz is the second drop-out to reach the podium and seemingly swapped places with Perez, as Sainz finished second on behalf of
Red Bull Racing.
Max Verstappen made the switch to Mercedes after all and would have finished not second, but third.
Red Bull Racing soon noticed the mistake and posted a screenshot of the image on social media, with the team openly wondering what year it actually is. Did someone press the wrong buttons in a hurry, or is F1 casting a glance into the (distant) future?
