Daniel Ricciardo insists he knows his own value as contract talks heat up. The summer break is fast approaching, and that is the date the Australian plugged in at the first race of the season.
He claims he has made his own value based on his achievements over the past eight seasons.
Ricciardo’s hopes of a drive for Ferrari or Mercedes have extinguished a little, but he confirms he can still get a car to win the World Championship.
"I said it from the start, the priority is to try and get a car that can win a world title because I really believe I can. So that's the first thing in my mind," he told Sky Sports.
"If there was absolutely no possibility then you look into other things, but I think as a driver I think I've done enough now”
Over the past week, it’s looked likely that he will make a move to McLaren should Fernando Alonso leave.
The 29-year-old is in a really rare situation as he sits in the peak period of his career. You can't fault his optimism.
