Kimi Raikkonen was told that he wouldn't be driving for
Ferrari before the Italian Grand Prix last weekend according to Autosprint.corrieredellosport.it...
The late Sergio Marchionne's wish was to have Sauber's Charles Leclerc driving for Scuderia next season, in place of current driver Raikkonen.
However, following Marchionne's death, Maurizio Arrivabene wished to keep the Finnish driver for another year, so talks began about a new contract for the 38-year-old.
A twist was on the cards, though, as new Ferrari president John Elkann informed Raikkonen that he won't be driving for Ferrari next season, before the race at Monza!
This undoubtedly had an impact on Raikkonen's decision not to sacrifice his Sunday race for Vettel due to him already being out of the team.
This perhaps was the reason Vettel seemed furious following Qualifying - because it's almost like he's now on his own fighting for this world championship against the ever-stronger Valtteri Bottas and world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Raikkonen said prior to the weekend in the official press conference that he has still not been told whether he will be with the Italian side for the 2019 season - but if this report is true; it wouldn't have been much longer before he was told!
Ferrari should pay Kimi bonuses for every race he helps seb or seb wins from now on if Ferrari to get the better of Lewis or Merc
What, did Vettel expect Kimi to throw an, at the time,, very good chance to finish in P1 for him?
I’ve never heard of a driver trying to qualify to be second. It is impossible to think this. Ferrari like most teams strictly run an alternating position of who goes first and second. Kimi’s turn to go second. If Vettel wanted that he should have asked before qualifying and as always it would be his. Crying after qualifying is a bad time to bring it up. Hindsight is 20/20. No start of a race does any driver hand over the first corner to his teammate. Vettel went to the left behind Kimi, so Lewis took 5he right side into the first turn, following the racing line. Vettel off the racing line crashed into Lewis. It was the wrong time for Vettel to take a massive, low percentage risk. There is the whole race to use 5he superior power of the Ferrari. Kimi took a 6 second advantage over Lewis until Bottas held him up. Vettel typically is even faster and threw away his race on the first corner.

I don't get this point about Vettel being angry after the qualifying and linking that to his being alone in the fight.. He and Ferrari should have then made sure that Kimi is the one giving the tow to Seb in all the final Q3 runs.. Seb clearly said his last lap was not a clean one, so who should be blamed for that.. I really can't figure out why he was so angry with his garage for his P2. Whatever words he had with them, I hope they gave it right back after his 1st lap race fiasco ..
Vettel certainly didn't look best pleased...
Could be huge for the championship fight with Hamilton if Vettel is by himself
Let it be the trouble of the Ferrari chefs... Kimi is a calm man, but not an idiot... He cannot be champ, but he can fight for his own success... - Have you seen the scene when Arrivabene embraced the crying Minttu as Kimi took the pole... Was it only a "show"? Never liked Ferrari, support them only for Kimi's sake...
That would explain his aggressive driving, he's just like f*** everything now
He's should be thinking that lol
