George Russell has insisted he is "not worried" about his new team, Williams' rather slow pace - ahead of his 2019 move.
Last month, it was announced that Russell would be making the 2019 switch to Williams; joining on a multi-year contract.
Russell is currently at the top of the Formula Two standings and with his move to Williams, it is set to be a 'role-reversal' for the youngster - who may find himself right at the bottom of the grid for next season.
But Russell has insisted that he is "not worried".
"Formula 1 changes so fast," the 20-year-old told Finnish broadcaster C More. "Last year Williams was fifth in the Constructors' World Championship and two years before that they were third.
"Next year is a massive opportunity and everyone is so motivated and hungry to improve."
Williams are yet to name Russell's partner for next season; Esteban Ocon looks unlikely to move there, despite the talks. Robert Kubica, Esteban Gutierrez and current driver Sergey Sirotkin are also in the frame.
Asked for his preference, Russell replied: "I would be happy with anyone but it would be good if they are a really good driver to measure myself again. It's then important to build a good relationship with my team-mate so that we can push the team forwards."
