Immediately after the
Monaco Grand Prix,
Carlos Sainz could hardly hide his disappointment. The Spaniard had a view on victory but failed again to end up on the highest step of the podium.
Moreover, the eventual second place behind
Sergio Perez could have easily been a third, if his team
Ferrari had not messed up the strategy with
Charles Leclerc. Indeed, in his hometown, the Monegasque was the fastest of the two Ferraris. In short, it is not yet the season of Sainz, who already seems eliminated in the fight for the world title.
The Spaniard spoke to the
official site of the Formula 1 about his current form. To a large extent, the lesser performance compared to Leclerc is due to the
Ferrari. This car does not fit Sainz's driving style, as is now known. Yet Sainz says that the turnaround in his performance is near.
