Carlos Sainz managed to keep his start positioning for the race tomorrow despite almost getting past teammate Charles Leclerc early on in the sprint race. The Ferrari driver will start on the second row of the grid on Sunday as he looks to jump ahead of both Max Verstappen and Leclerc from P3 on the grid.
In a post-race interview with Sky Sports, Sainz immediately had this to say "I had a good start then a couple of fights with Max into turn 3 then Charles into turn 3. It was good fun and good racing" before he admitted that he "probably overheated the tires a bit" causing him to back off from his teammate at the end of the race. Before summarizing with "First of all, we need to improve the pace a bit."
Sainz looks ahead to tomorrow "He [Max] had good pace at the start. It's a long race and anything can happen. We will try our best to beat Max tomorrow"
