The silly season in
Formula 1 is taking surprising turns. Amidst all the rumours,
Pierre Gasly is now mentioned as a possible candidate for the vacant Alpine seat next to
Esteban Ocon.
Gasly linked with Alpine seat in 2023
In an unexpected development, both Mick Schumacher and IndyCar driver Colton Herta are being linked with a future at AlphaTauri. Alpine team boss
Otmar Szafnauer does not want to let go of Piastri yet, but the team has been talking to other drivers and has reportedly shown interest in Gasly. To achieve this,
Red Bull Racing would 'loan' the driver out while maintaining ties with the Austrian stable. According to
Autosport.com.
Meanwhile,
Helmut Marko is said to be considering giving Schumacher a chance at AlphaTauri, where a seat would become available in the aforementioned scenario. Herta would also be a possibility. To further fuel the rumours, Marko was spotted talking to Zak Brown, who is also CEO of the IndyCar
McLaren team for which Herta drives.
