Ferrari took its first victory since 2019 at the
Bahrain Grand Prix. The Italian racing stable seemed to be the team to beat all weekend, although
Max Verstappen made things quite difficult for them. However,
Ralf Schumacher believes that
Red Bull Racing would have had - without problems - the fastest car.
Schumacher thinks Red Bull was faster than Ferrari
According to Schumacher,
Max Verstappen was rock solid and could have won if Red Bull had not run into technical problems.
"I still say that if the Red Bull had been at the front, it would probably even have been the faster car, at least with Max," he says to the German branch of
Sky Sports.
He stresses that
Sergio Perez also drove a strong race, in which he was able to keep up well with
Carlos Sainz. He also underlines that Bahrain is historically a circuit that suits
Ferrari better than Red Bull. This could indicate that Red Bull's package is stronger than it looked on Sunday.
According to Schumacher,
Charles Leclerc' s victory was much needed, especially given Sainz's strong performance last year.
"It's important for Leclerc to take this success and continue that line," Schumacher said.
