After a rock-solid season start in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, the
Australian Grand Prix ended in disappointment for Haas. Team boss
Guenther Steiner sees new opportunities in
Imola.
Speaking to
Speedweek.com Steiner describes the weekend in Melbourne as "a great challenge. Mick Schumacher and
Kevin Magnussen came no further than thirteenth and fourteenth place respectively.
Steiner takes positives to Imola
According to Steiner, things were bad from the start. "It started with small problems on Mick's car and Kevin not feeling well," he explains. Then both drivers still came close to the points, but the timing of the safety car didn't work out so well. "You have to do everything perfectly this year to get into the points," he observes.
Yet there are also positives that the team boss takes with him to the next race in Imola. According to Steiner, it has become clear that the Haas car is working well, as well as the new rules. "The new rules work, the cars look interesting and different from each other, and still duels are possible. In my opinion, the new rules have exceeded expectations," said the Haas team boss.
