In
Formula 2 there is a whole host of talent ready to make the step to
Formula 1 and especially the
Ferrari juniors are pushing hard. Günther Steiner is open to giving those drivers a chance to take a test.
With Callum Ilott,
Mick Schumacher and Robert Shwartzman,
Ferrari has three championship candidates driving around in
Formula 2. Schumacher seems destined for a place in F1 and is heavily linked to the seat at Alfa Romeo. For Ilott and Shwartzman it is a lot harder, despite good performances in the division.
Will talents be tested at Haas?
With
Kimi Raikkonen,
Antonio Giovinazzi,
Romain Grosjean, and
Kevin Magnussen as current drivers, there are already four drivers on the market for the seats at Alfa Romeo and Haas and with the freed
Sergio Perez and of course
Nico Hulkenberg, the rear teams suddenly have a lot of choice.
''That would certainly be possible. That's more up to Ferrari, but if they ask for our help, we can certainly help them. They helped us a lot during the coronavirus, so that's how we can help each other," said Steiner to
Formula1.com about a possible test of one of the Ferrari talents in his car.
