There was an incident between
Alexander Albon and
Daniel Ricciardo on the first lap of the
Japanese Grand Prix. The incident was investigated by the stewards after the race, and they have now come to a decision.
Alexander Albon was on the outside and by his own admission did not get any space. This caused him to hit the grass. As a result, he lost control of his car and hit
Daniel Ricciardo's rear tyre. Both men then crashed into the tyre pile, which resulted in both of them crashing out.
The incident was looked into after the
Japanese Grand Prix, but the stewards decided that no further action was needed. It is therefore a racing incident on the first lap.
