Being tall is a bad thing for an F1-driver, and
Esteban Ocon has had to suffer the consequences as he often struggles to fit into cars and simulators, but the Frenchman is pleased with the new weight rule for 2019.
The F1 is set to have a minimum driver weight, something that should be good news for someone who's tall and therefore usually heavier, right?
"It's good, but I'm the tallest driver, not the heaviest," he told Racefans.
"I have a margin on that, and it'll be good to build up more [weight]."
When asked about the struggles of being tall as a racer, Ocon was quick to bring up some memories.
"[Being] tall has been an issue in Formula Renault, GP2.
"That’s also a reason why I went to DTM, because the car was quite small and I was not fitting well.
"[The Mercedes car] was not very comfortable but we managed to find a way at the end.
"The simulator, we managed to improve that, but it’s always harder in the real car to find space," he responded after saying he couldn't fit into the simulators at first
