There is currently a lot of talk about the future of both the Dutch and
Belgian Grand Prix, with rotating the two
Formula 1 races said to be among the options.
Max Verstappen leaves his opinion on this somewhat open but draws a clear conclusion on the reason behind the idea.
Verstappen on F1 plans for Zandvoort and Spa
The GP at
Zandvoort is hugely popular among
F1 fans and is packed with spectators every year, mostly dressed in orange. But there is talk of the possibility of alternating the race weekend with the one at Spa-Francorchamps, an iconic and much-loved circuit whose spot on the calendar - mainly for financial reasons - is in jeopardy.
Asked by
Viaplay how important he thinks it is to keep visiting
Zandvoort annually, Verstappen left his opinion open.
"My favourite track is, of course, Spa, so I'm a bit in between. In the end, it's not up to me. I can, of course, say all kinds of things, but in the end, it's all about the money," the
Red Bull Racing driver concludes.
