Set your alarm for Wednesday, January 5 at 10 a.m., because it looks like
Max Verstappen wants to thank
Honda in a special way.
In 2015,
Honda returned to
Formula 1 as a supplier for
McLaren. Eventually, the two sides parted ways, but Toro Rosso (the former AlphaTauri) then struck a deal with them in 2018. They showed good development and therefore
Red Bull Racing decided to use Honda engines in 2019 as well.
Many victories followed for both teams with the icing on the cake being Verstappen's world title in 2021. Honda enjoyed working with Red Bull and is leaving the sport with its head held high after winning the world title, but the Milton Keynes-based team and the 24-year-old driver are also very happy with the successful partnership.

Now of course the world champion wants to thank Honda and apparently he is going to do that next Wednesday. From the tweet of the
Official Twitter account of the Dutch driver we can only deduce that it is a thank you to the engine supplier, but what the actual idea is, will become clear on Wednesday.
