Ferrari's
Sebastian Vettel has no regrets about his failed attempt to overtake
Valtteri Bottas after the race restarted after the safety car, as the German explained that he
"had to do it". Vettel eventually lost out on a podium place after his failed move on Bottas, as he tried to out-brake the Finn, but the tyres of his Ferrari locked up, which led to him having a flat spot on his tyres. Vettel has no regrets about it, though.
"I went for it and I'm happy about that," he told Motorsport.com.
"Unfortunately it didn't work, but I had to do it.
"I didn't have a choice because Lewis was right next to me."
The flat spot on his tyres was the reason that Vettel lost a lot of pace and eventually he had to concede the last podium place to Force India's Sergio Perez.
"After the flat spot, I had to get used to the car again," Vettel continued.
"I eventually figured out where the balance was at and I tried to push for the podium, but unfortunately that didn't come off."
