Jacques Villeneuve performed handsomely on his debut in the Daytona 500. The former Formula One driver finished 22nd in the NASCAR race, while Austin Cindric was a surprising winner.

At the age of 50, Villeneuve made his debut in the Daytona 500 this weekend. The Canadian, who has already won the Formula 1 World Championship, IndyCar Championship and the Indy 500, hadn't yet raced in this competition as in a previous attempt, he failed to qualify.

Class of Villeneuve

For the debuting Team Hezeberg, however, he succeeded in 2022. Even though Villeneuve had to start in 40th and last place, he showed his class, as he fought his way up to 22nd place.

The eventual winner of the Daytona 500 was American Cindric, who at 23 years old was making his debut in the Daytona 500. However, he managed to keep Bubba Wallace and Chase Briscoe behind him. It was his first NASCAR victory after eight entries.

Well he was massivly off the pace ( but that's more because of the car )

Almost crashed when entering the pitlane.

All the top guys were taken out in 3 different big ones.

But with a bit of luck nice debut
