The Barcelona Grand Prix in a week and a half seems to give a good picture of how the relationships between
Ferrari and
Red Bull Racing stand. For Giancarlo Minardi, it will also be an exciting weekend to look forward to, although he states that the decision will certainly not be made there.
Charles Leclerc ran away at lightning speed in the world championship at the beginning of the season, but in recent weeks
Max Verstappen has started to catch up. After his victories in
Imola and Miami, the difference between both drivers is only nineteen points in favour of the Monegasque.
Minardi expects exciting battle between Leclerc and Verstappen
It ensures that the GP of Spain is an important race for both drivers. Historically, the Spanish race is the moment for teams to come up with updates and that is what
Ferrari seems to be doing. However, according to Minardi, the championship is going to make a difference in other areas as well.
"Important yes, but certainly not decisive," he stressed in conversation with
OASport.
"There are still so many races to go and it is too early to talk in those terms. Undoubtedly Ferrari is a bit behind in terms of performance and they need to work, but pay attention to another factor," Minardi ends, pointing to the reliability of the car.
