Williams believes that the sport of Formula One is broken and is on a steady course to keep small teams down and the big teams winning. Williams has been on a steady but sure freefall in recent times, their last win came in Spain with Pastor Maldonado's victory in 2012.
Speaking to Blick, Williams expressed disappointment in the direction Formula One was heading and that nobody outside of the top three teams would see any big success in the near future.
"When I started, I really thought we could win again,
“Now I do not believe that anymore. Our sport is basically broken.
"It's naive to believe that if you just work hard, you'll be rewarded.
“Except for the top three teams, nobody will win in the future.
"The financial discrepancy compared to Ferrari, Mercedes and Red Bull is just too big. It's impossible to keep up. And it's sad. "If the new Formula 1 owners actually push the $150 million budget from 2021, we could survive."
Despite her concerns, she did acknowledge the need for Williams to up their game themselves having had a very poor start to the 2018 season.
"There are teams with less money than we have who are doing a better job."
