Valtteri Bottas had an interesting end to his Hungarian Grand Prix, colliding with both Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo on his way to an eventual fifth place.

The Finn was under attack from Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen as the race headed into the final few laps, and Vettel managed to get alongside heading into turn three.

The German turned in and Bottas clipped him, taking off part of his front wing. After the crash, both Ferraris sped away and Bottas was then in danger of being overtaken by Daniel Ricciardo.

Ricciardo tried to go around the outside into the first corner, but the damaged Mercedes understeered into the Red Bull’s sidepod.

Ricciardo eventually got past Bottas for P4 and Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff has explained the collisions.

On the Vettel crash: "No traction because of the old tyre and then he tried to defend on the inside. There was nowhere to go, also on the dirt, and then they collided."

On the Ricciardo crash: "It's a similar incident. With a tyre that has nothing left anymore, it was a bit harsh and he [Ricciardo] got the position back.”
