After the
Imola Grand Prix, rumors of a possible mid-season driver change have been circulating. However, the news of
Ted Kravitz fuels the feeling that the change may take place at
Williams.
On Sunday evening, Spanish
Formula 1 journalist Albert Fabrega was the first to come out with the news. He was not allowed to say which driver or which team was involved, but the journalist was able to report that there may be a driver swap, where a driver from another team gets the chance at a team that wants to put its own driver out.
Piastri to Williams?
Although Fabrega didn't want to name names, it's not a difficult calculation to come up with that
Nicholas Latifi could possibly lose out at
Williams. The Canadian has had a lousy start to the season and after being run over by
George Russell for years now also by newcomer
Alexander Albon. So it might be time for a change.
At
Sky Sports Ted Kravitz announced that he has heard rumors that Williams might consider acquiring
Oscar Piastri from Alpine in 2023. The Australian did not get a seat in F1 at Alpine after his F2 title and the French team would be open to loaning him out. Is one and one two in this case and could it be that Kravitz's news is old and Williams is already considering this switch as early as 2022?
