Article: This article paints an unbalanced view and the comments seem to follow that trail. It could have been stated that "ALL or MOST drivers that have won F1 Championships drove the fastest or most dominant car?" Fastest Car: The fact is most (if not all) F1 WC winners have won it in a dominant car. Fact is MS would not have won 7 WCs if he were not in the fastest and most dominant car. Fact is SB in RB with 4WCs. Irrespective of the era, that is how F1 WCs have been won. It is not only in F1 but in other sports too: football and basket ball teams with an assembly of superstars often win their leagues. Tehcnical knowledge: The argument could also be shifted to mean that if MS and LH did not have the ability to grasp car technicalities in complex and dominant cars, they would not have won 7 WCs. Performance: LH has "performed" in dominant and non-dominant cars. He has beaten team mates in dominant and non-dominant cars. And this season is not yet over. He may win or lose, but has won many. How drivers won WCs: Wining the F1 WC is a combination of talent, car, and making the right moves. A driver will not get a seat in the "fast car" if he or she does not have what it takes. LH going to Mercedes was a career maker or breaker, but it worked out for him. Without being biased, if Alonso had made that move to Merc he could have won 7 WCs because he is that talented. Can MV win 7 WCs? Yes. Why? Talent, car, and he has planted himself in a fast car/team just as LH did with Merc. Can Gasly win a WC in a midfield car? No! Why? Because although he is talented, he is in a midfield car, but that may change if he moves to Mclaren. LH past and present: LH fingers were bleeding at the age of 4 when he was turning kart screws with his dad. Whichever way he has won them, to be a 7 WC is incredible, and lack of technical knowledge did not prevent it. Other talented drivers could have won it too, if they had made the move. The same goes for SV: winning 4 in a row is incredible! On win stats: WCs, race wins, PPs, etc, LH is currently the GOAT. MS used to be that. MV may surpass that. That is F1!
