When the same group own's both team's the engine sale's are somewhat irrelevant, whenever Red bull does make their own power unit if it's reliable and fast some team will buy them02-09-2022 06:34

Leclerc spent a season with Alfa Romeo to see what he could do in a F1 car before he stepped into Ferrari, yes oscar had a good jr career leading up to F1 but that does not guarantee that he will be able to perform at the level that alpine requires if they intend to not drop far down the order from where they currently are.01-08-2022 19:24

There is one major flaw in your theory, car's are under park ferme from the start of qualifying until the end of the race and that mean's that whatever engine mode they are using at the start of qualifying is the same engine mode they finish the race with. That was the outcome of the Red bull racing complaint about Mercedes party mode for qualifying when Honda wouldn't allow red bull to do the same with their engine26-07-2022 15:48

It make's sense that Zak Brown is starting to lose patience waiting for Riccardo to get comfortable with the car, how many time's has he said they are just waiting for Daniel to get comfortable but if he doesn't get something figured out this year he should be worried about getting the boot, sure he still has another year on his contract but we have seen enough over the year's that a contract for a driver is far from a guarantee of a seat, I recall hearing Perez say repeatedly that it was just speculation that he was getting let go from racing point for Vettel then all of a sudden it wasn't speculation and Perez was gone, Riccardo must have a memory of that. Realistically for what he's getting paid he should be worried about that possibility if this season continues like it has been29-05-2022 06:26

What exactly was dumb about moving to the team that beat Renault his last season there and finished ahead of Alpine last season and have a little better car again this season and would most likely finish ahead of Alpine again if both car's were scoring point's on the regular. That seems like the total opposite of a dumb move29-05-2022 06:36

They don't need to go past the cap thought there is lots of money if they shuffle thing's around, otmar said it best if you have 20 million for development spend 17 and there's the inflation covered, team's don't need to bring constant upgrades and could spend a little more time just tweaking their setup and other thing's to find a little more speed28-05-2022 16:11

But if there is a set weight limit a team is expected to design their car to be within the weight limit, not build a car that is quite a bit over the weight limit using heavy parts because you are going to lighten them if they work. That's why alpine was against raising the weight because they did make sacrifices while designing their car for the simple reason they had to sacrifice a few things to hit the weight mark and had they known that they were one of the only team's to hit the weight and they could have done like everyone else and built the car exactly like they wanted without sacrificing anything. So in reality if they raise the cap then that's twice that Alpine would be screwed over by being at the correct weight and under budget29-05-2022 06:45

Nope it's still the same if 3 team's are able to stay within the budget cap while dealing with the same issue's as the 7 who supposedly can't shouldn't be punished because the 7 team's can't figure out how to move money around within a budget.all. it's similar to car weight some team's made sacrefices in their car design to be close to the correct weight, then come's red bull building the car how they want then complaining about needing the weight raised because they couldn't get their car light enough so the weight is raised but team's that were careful with their design to be at the right weight are punished because the made sacrefices in the design of their car and other team's didn't28-05-2022 16:06

It's not really surprising that Ferrari is well ahead in Monaco, at pretty much every track so far Ferrari has crushed red bull in the slow and medium corner's and red bulls biggest advantage of a higher top speed is pretty much worthless at Monaco28-05-2022 09:41
