On the straights, the rear suspension of
Lewis Hamilton and
Valtteri Bottas' cars seems to sag a little, lowering the rear end. The rear wing drops a considerable amount, which increases top speed. On braking for the corner the rear suspension returns to its original position.
At
Sky Sports they analyse footage of the Mercedes car at
Istanbul Park and it seems that Mercedes has invented a clever trick which for now still fits within the regulations of the
FIA.
