Schokgolf gaat door Formule 1-paddock na overlijden Sir Frank Williams
De Formule 1 is zondag een icoon verloren. Sir Frank Williams, oprichter van het historische Williams F1-team, overleed op 79-jarige leeftijd na een ziekenhuisopname. Vanuit alle hoeken van de Formule 1-wereld stromen de steunbetuigingen inmiddels binnen.

Het nieuws gaat als een schokgolf door de Formule 1-wereld heen. Velen hadden de eer om met de iconische Williams te hebben gewerkt tijdens zijn langdurige aanwezigheid in de sport. Anderen hebben hem niet persoonlijk gekend, maar het nieuws komt bij iedereen hard aan.
“Hij was een ware gigant in onze sport, die de zwaarste uitdagingen van het leven overwon en dagelijks streed om te winnen, zowel op de baan als daarbuiten. We hebben een zeer geliefd en gerespecteerd lid van de F1-familie verloren, en hij zal zeer gemist worden”, schrijft Formule 1-baas Stefano Domenicali.
