Max Verstappen is ondanks dat Sergio Perez de Grand Prix van Saoedi-Arabië won nog altijd de leider in het wereldkampioenschap. Veel scheelde het niet en de Nederlander had er de laatste ronde voor nodig om zich te verzekeren van het beslissende WK-punt. Op het internet maakte dat de nodige reacties los.
