Formula 1 will continue to return to
Imola to complete a race in the coming years, reports
the official website of Formula 1. In fact, the
FIA has extended the contract with the organization of the Grand Prix of Imola until 2025.
The motorsport class had to deal with the coronavirus in 2020, which forced several countries to postpone their race. The FIA then rushed to find replacements and found the organization in Imola willing to step up.
Wonderful races in Imola
Imola has been the scene of some great races in recent years. While
Lewis Hamilton managed to be the first driver to cross the finish line in 2020,
Max Verstappen managed to beat his rival a year later. It showed for
Formula 1 that it still has to deal with a circuit that is interesting for different teams.
"The circuit is iconic and has been part of the history of our sport," Formula One CEO Stefano Domenicali stressed on the website. "And they have done an incredible job of hosting two races during the pandemic." The 2022 race is scheduled for 24 April.
