Aston Martin has announced that Lawrence Stroll has increased his stake in the team. The Executive Chairman has ensured that Aston Martin will remain in Formula 1 for the time being.

Aston Martin increasing in size

Aston Martin has sold its stake in the Aston Martin team. As a result, Stroll Sr. increases his stake in Aston to 33 percent. He also strengthened the company's balance sheet by approximately 150 million euros.

Stroll wants to ensure that a buyer is found for the stake in Aston Martin Lagonda. He has instructed investment bank Raine Group to do this. This party will work with Jeff Slack, Aston Martin's commercial director, to find a strategic investor.

Stroll himself said: "These steps show that Aston Martin's place on the Formula 1 grid is as secure as ever. AML recently recommitted to the long-term sponsorship and licensing agreement with AMF1, confirming that the legendary Aston Martin brand and the British green racing colours will be involved in Formula 1 for decades to come."
