Ferrari has lodged a protest with the FIA against Max Verstappen, who allegedly crossed the white line when exiting the pits.
Christian Horner reported this during a press event after the race. While talking to the media, the Red Bul Racing team boss received a phone call informing him of the protest by the rival team. After this he announced the news.
Horner stressed that there was no communication with the FIA during the race about the moment and despite the FIA making a note of the incident, the race direction saw no need for the stewards to investigate the matter further.
The FIA has now announced that it will investigate not only Verstappen but also Sergio Perez. Both drivers would have crossed the line when leaving the pits and had to report at 19:15 local time.
