The Bahrain Grand Prix was a stunning opening to the 2022 Formula One season. With a victory for Charles Leclerc, Ferrari returned to the top step of the podium and is getting a lot of praise for it, especially in the Italian media. Red Bull Racing 's complete collapse is also receiving a lot of attention from the international media.

Gazzetta dello Sport

Where else but to start in Italy. For years the Italians have had to wait for a competitive car from Ferrari, but in 2022 Mattia Binotto's team looks like the best of the class at the start of the year. ''Finally, Ferrari, finally the red has returned,'' reads the pink sports newspaper. ''As in all fairy tales, it was the prince who broke the curse'', refers Gazzetta dello Sport to the victory of 'crown prince' Leclerc.

''It's a triumph that wipes away two years of technical weakness, suffering, criticism, jokes and even caricatures on TV. At the start of the new technical era, with completely new cars, Ferrari was ready for it: a victory in the first race and an unforgettable double.''

Corriere della Sera

''We're staying in Italy, because where else can you find the most beautiful headlines on Monday mornings. They have had to wait years for this and so also headlines Corriere della Sera with ''the resurrection of Ferrari.'' According to the other Italian sports newspaper, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc are finally capable of winning the world title in 2022 and that gives the Tifosi hope.

Sky Sports

No British team or British driver on the top step of the podium, but also in England there is a lot of praise for Ferrari. Sky Sports speaks of a ''brilliant victory'' for Leclerc, while Max Verstappen is unlucky with a late retirement. ''The heart attack for Red Bull wasn't over after Verstappen's retirement, as Perez dropped out with a similar problem.''

Bild

''Right before the end, a drama for Verstappen,'' the German Bild after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Bild also talks about the wheel-to-wheel fight between Leclerc and Verstappen, where the Monegasque held his own handsomely against the reigning world champion. ''Ferrari has set the tone.''

Marca

The title of the Spanish Marca says it all: ''Red Bull is sinking''. To continue: ''The world champion's car already had steering problems and then fell off the cliff completely. It was a cinematic end to the start of the 2022 F1 season.''

On the other hand, from Spain there was also praise for Ferrari and Leclerc. ''Charles tamed the beast Verstappen,'' the report said of the duel between the two superstars from Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. ''Max overtook Leclerc five times, but the Monegasque passed him back just as many times. It was an epic battle that tastes like more.''

Can't win them all.
Ask Senna.

What a sad article.

Charles had the better car. Because of team tactics we had a few battles on the circuit between the better Ferrari and the slower RB.

Finally LEC can show what he is made off. And i guess we see allot battles between MV and LEC.

Unless Merc get a miracle engine, they will get a podium when a Ferrari or RB breaks down.

In short Max needs a better car, AKA fastest car to win?
Is that the line now, I thought thats not needed with Max and the fastest car means the driver is less skillful.

I am confused mate, your been lapped
Saying Lewis had fake championships because of the car he is driving, why now your making that a requirement for Max to win.
Clear that up for me mate

Lol, why you guys always accuse RB fans for being trolls, while Lewis/Merc fans are clearly the biggest trolls around? ?

You needed one race for these conclusions? ? Yes, Ferrari has the faster car and onviously that complicates things for Max. However, he has won most of his races without having the best car, and even yesterday this was possible with a better strategy and without the untimely safety car (and obviously without the retirement). Btw...why I hear everyone about the luck RB had with SC in Dubai, but noone about the incredible bad luck here?

All in all, Max was on his way to an easy 18 points, which would have been a great start. Yes, having the fastest car would have been easier for Max, but you make very weird claims and then pretend others said this. RB ALWAYS develops better than Ferrari and vive versa we''ve seen Ferrari drop off in the second half of the season more often than not... If this bad luck will not become a regularity again, there is still time to come back!

Now that Max has discarded Hamilton Vege has moved onto Charles or anyone else who beats Max.
Good odds.

Esso tamed the beast by not providing enough fuel..

For 2 cars, mate how do you do that ,?
But in all seriousness,LEC had Max beat 3 times. The fuel issue was later and just made the p2 impossible.

Maybe the beast eats the horses this week
