Ferrari have had some difficult years, but after the upgrades made at Imola, the Scuderia seem to be changing in a good way. Charles Leclerc is therefore enthusiastic about the team's development in recent times.

After 2019, Ferrari slumped a bit. The Italian team finished only sixth among constructors in 2020. In 2021, Ferrari improved, finishing third in the final standings. Then the new regulations were introduced, after which the Scuderia looked like one of the best teams at first. Eventually, Red Bull developed better and Ferrari collapsed again.

Then, at the start of 2024, there was hope, because despite still being quite far behind Red Bull, Ferrari at least seemed to be the second-best team again. After upgrades at Imola, however, the question is whether the Italians are not the fastest team. Indeed, Ferrari and McLaren have made a very big step up from Red Bull, resulting in a win for McLaren in Miami and a win in Monaco for Ferrari.

Leclerc sees prospects for Ferrari

So it's fair to say that things have improved. Leclerc too notices: "Yes, for sure, there's been changes. I really like those changes. We are definitely not losing time in taking decisions And until now, I touch wood. There's no wood, I'll touch wood later on, the decisions have been very often the right ones and also one thing that is very important for me is not being afraid to fail in going in certain directions and sometimes you've got to be brave and go into a direction."

The Monegasque continued: "We are all convinced it's the right one, but it might be a risky one. In the past we were a bit safer on those things which today I think we see the benefits of doing that. We've got such an incredible and so many talented engineers that when we go in a direction, as risky as it is, we are all convinced that it's the right one And until now it's been awesome, it's great."
