Magnussen sent to the stewards again: 'would be weird if I didn't see them'

Kevin Magnussen is no stranger to the stewards, and has racked up 10 penalty points so far this season. On Saturday, he once again made his way to their office after an incident in qualifying with Oscar Piastri. Nevertheless, the Haas driver now finds these visits rather amusing.

Surprisingly this time it was not Magnussen who was receiving a penalty. Instead, Piastri was handed a three-grid place penalty for getting in the way of the driver during qualifying in Imola. It was concluded that his team warned him too late about the oncoming driver, meaning he will now start fifth rather than second for Sunday's Grand Prix.

'Nice to see the stewards again'

Magnussen is a familiar face in the stewards office, and is just two points a way from receiving a race ban. The Haas driver took a dig towards the stewards when speaking on Viaplay: "It was nice to see the stewards again and make sure they are doing alright."

"It would be weird to go a whole weekend without seeing them."

Having picked up all ten of his points this season, the Dane must avoid picking up any more if he wishes to steer clear from a race ban.
