It is still unclear who will get the Renault seat next year next to Esteban Ocon. An important candidate is still the already somewhat older
Fernando Alonso according to all rumors. Sky Sports analyst
Ted Kravitz doesn't understand why Renault hasn't captured the Spaniard yet.
In a Sky Sports vodcast Kravitz discusses the empty seat at the French race stable and gives team boss Cyril Abiteboul advice when asked: "If Alonso could, they should seize this opportunity with both hands at Renault. They shouldn't let him escape and pay him as much as they can miss. If Alonso really wants it that would be a no brainer for me", the analyst is clear.
Martin Brundle thinks it depends on Ocon and wonders if Renault should put Alonso next to him: "If Ocon can show this year that he can lead the team I don't know if they should put Alonso next to him. That's a tricky driver", the Englishman refers to the fanaticism and demands of the Spaniard. Moreover, it could get in the way of the development of Ocon.
For this year the driver's market is locked and Ocon will have to show next to the more experienced
Daniel Ricciardo before he can possibly compete against Alonso. The Australian will leave for
McLaren after this season.
