Fernando Alonso put in a great performance during qualifying for the
Turkish Grand Prix by securing sixth place in his Alpine car, but that place now seems to be in jeopardy. The Spaniard has to go to the stewards because he would not have respected the yellow flags in Q1. A grid penalty is in the offing for the two-time world champion.
The
FIA document states that the driver and a team member are expected at 17:15 local time (15:15 Dutch time) to explain the story to the stewards. If Alonso is penalised it would be good news for
Sergio Perez, who would move up another place.
