The Italian Grand Prix marks the 14th Grand Prix of the season. Each week the twenty drivers receive marks from GPblog, but how do they stand on average with eight races to go? Which men are at the top of the standings after the weekend at Monza and which drivers still have hard work to do to boost their grade a little towards the end of 2023.
Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz received a 10 for their performance at the 'Temple of Speed.' Last Sunday's numbers one and three thus achieved the maximum score. For Verstappen, it means he leads even more firmly in the standings with average marks. The Dutchman is already sure of first place. Sainz goes from a 6.4 average to a 6.6 average thanks to his strong performance.
Fernando Alonso, who received a 7 before this weekend, is still the driver closest to Verstappen with an average of 8.1. Following closely behind is Alexander Albon with a 7.9, who boosted his average thanks to a 9 at Monza. Lando Norris is also in the sub-top with an average of 7.6. For his performance in Italy, he was awarded a 7 and so his average dropped slightly.
Behind that is a group including Lewis Hamilton (7.1), Nico Hulkenberg (7.0), Yuki Tsunoda (6.9) and Oscar Piastri (6.6). For now, the least performing - still active in Formula 1 - drivers this year are Logan Sargeant (5.1), Lance Stroll (5.3), Kevin Magnussen (5.6) and Sergio Perez (5.9).
