Dennis Hauger took his second Formula 2 victory of the season at the Hungaroring. The MP Motorsport driver stayed ahead of his Red Bull Junior colleague Ayumu Iwasa. Oliver Bearman completed the podium.
Hauger started second on the grid, but immediately took the lead from polesitter Kush Maini at the start. Iwasa closed in after a great start and did not lose sight of him, but Hauger steadily built up his lead.
There was a brief virtual safety car after Clement Novalak and Ralph Boschung collided. In the process, the latter ended up in the crash barrier. Arthur Leclerc was also involved in the incident, but was able to continue.
After the green flag was waved and the race resumed, a thrilling battle for third unfolded between Bearman and Theo Pourchaire, with Bearman gaining the upper hand. In the closing stages, Iwasa made another attempt to take the lead from Hauger, but the latter managed to repel the attacks.
