Great emotions during the 2022 United States Grand Prix! At the Circuit of the Americas it was once again Max Verstappen who took victory, after a disastrous start by Carlos Sainz and a duel with a never-tame Lewis Hamilton. Let's find out the reactions of the Italian media to Formula 1 Sunday!

Sky Sports Italian branch

There is no doubt in the mind of the Sky Sports editorial staff when they give out their report cards for the race. Max Verstappen gets, of course, the maximum, which is a 10, highlighting how he managed to win despite a poor pit stop by the Red Bull mechanics. 10 also for Lewis Hamilton, whose talent and heart never die'. 9 for a 'very tough' Charles Leclerc, who managed to climb from the sixth row to the podium. Other noteworthy votes are 8 for a 'miraculous and miraculous' Fernando Alonso, author of a super race following a serious accident with Lance Stroll, who instead takes home a 1: judged 'unforgivable' for his move against the Alpine driver. Finally, 9 also for Sebastian Vettel, author of probably his best race of the season, which earned him seventh place in the race: Sky calls it "the roar of the old lion".

Tuttosport

'Verstappen: win dedicated to Mateschitz' is the headline of Tuttosport to summarise the Dutchman's extraordinary race, which inevitably pays homage to Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who passed away on Saturday."Max Verstappen is never satiated. Even now that the world championship is over, the Dutchman has no desire to take a break. The two-time world champion took victory number 13 in the season, equalling the record of Vettel and Michael Schumacher. The Ferraris are not forgotten:'The Rossa can find a smile again thanks to Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque [...] managed to "climb" up to third place.

Corriere dello Sport

"Charles guarantees but Mercedes climbs". This is the headline of the Corriere dello Sport commentary."Leclerc's third place reassures but does not compensate for Carlos Sainz's accident [...]. With Hamilton Mercedes begin to bite back with renewed nastiness, especially in view of next season'. The great race for Max Verstappen is also paid tribute in these pages: 'there's no way to stop Verstappen, not even now that the world championship is heading towards the sunset'. Finally, Fernando Alonso was voted best driver of the day: 'he risked take-off, crashed his Alpine after a flight, continued with the car losing parts and finished seventh, up from fourteenth when he had started. A giant'.

Corriere della Sera

Strong comment from Corriere della Sera:' F1 is that sport where Ferrari takes pole and Red Bull, Verstappen's Red Bull, wins the race. [...] Red on Saturday, blue on Sunday. It's the storyline of 2022, it always happens." A one-way year, as the newspaper portrays it, even titling it 'Formula Max'.

Gazzetta dello Sport

The Gazzetta also highlights Max Verstappen's astounding form and seeming unbeatability. "The insatiable Max Verstappen knows no syndromes of contentment. The word 'contentment' is out of his vocabulary." The newspaper calls his victory yesterday a 'cannibal'. It also praises his management of the race in the riskiest moments, particularly following the Alonso-Stroll accident: 'The race direction this time was impeccable, waiting two laps behind the safety car before the tractor came in to remove the car. [...] Perhaps the hard lesson of Suzuka has paid off."
