Red Bull Racing's incredible dominance in the 2023
Formula 1 season has created a huge lead in the constructors' championship. Drivers
Max Verstappen and
Sergio Perez dragged in plenty of points for the Austrian racing stable almost every weekend, but that was not the case in Singapore. A new chance at the championship in Japan.
The gap between Red Bull and Mercedes currently stands at 308 points. After the
Japanese Grand Prix, six more races are scheduled in the
Formula 1 season. The maximum number of points remaining for a team after the race at Suzuka is 309 points. So then that team have to finish first and second everywhere and drive the fastest race lap each time.
This is how Red Bull can become champion in Japan
So this means that Red Bull Racing can become constructors' champion in Japan the moment it manages to get one more point than the duo of
George Russell and
Lewis Hamilton. If after the Suzuka race the margin to Mercedes is 309 points or more, the constructors' title for Red Bull will be a reality.
Behind Red Bull Racing, things are still pretty exciting. Mercedes is in second place in the final standings, but
Ferrari is not many points behind team boss
Toto Wolff's formation. The difference between Mercedes and the Italian Scuderia is just 24 points after the Singapore GP.
