Sebastian Vettel will end his Formula 1 career at the end of the season. However, it by no means means means that the German will sit still, as his next challenge awaits him at the end of January. He will then compete in the 2023 Race Of Champions.
"I can’t think of a better place for my first race after I retire from Formula 1 than the Race Of Champions," Vettel stated in conversation with Formula1.com. "This will be my 11th appearance, and I keep coming back because it’s a special event, and so much fun."
Although Vettel will undoubtedly need to recover from his time in Formula 1, he remains ambitious. "Now I can’t wait to come back and give ROC-style ice racing another try and hopefully help Team Germany win another ROC Nations Cup title."
At the beginning of this calendar year, the German also competed in the event. Back then, Vettel managed to make it to the final, in which he faced Sébastien Loeb. The Frenchman prevailed and took the top prize. With the German team, he lost to the United States.
