Max Verstappen took victory convincingly at the
Italian Grand Prix, but that does not make him this week's winner of the
Formula 1 Power Rankings.
Nyck de Vries did so well in his
Formula 1 debut that he comfortably took the top spot, according to
Formula1.com.
In fact, the judges gave De Vries a 9.8 for his race with
Williams, giving him almost a perfect score. However, as it is expected to be his only race of the season, it decided not to include him in the rankings for the entire racing year.
Verstappen winner over other drivers
Verstappen picked up the highest mark after De Vries. His performance at the Monza circuit was good for a 9.2, outperforming
Charles Leclerc. The Monegasque fought for what he was worth and got an 8.8 for it, while his teammate
Carlos Sainz was awarded an 8.4.
George Russell,
Lando Norris (both 8.2),
Pierre Gasly (7.8),
Lewis Hamilton, Guanyu Zhou (both 7.6) and
Daniel Ricciardo (7.4) also featured in the top ten. It means
Sergio Perez is once again not among the best-performing drivers this week.
