Valtteri Bottas has secured a good starting position for Saturday's GP of Mexico. Behind the Finn, Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will line up. A good starting position is important on this circuit, as we have seen in recent years. It is a fairly long section to the first corner. So it will be a battle for the first corner between the Mercedes drivers and Verstappen, who will start from P3.
The Mexican Grand Prix will start at 19:00 on Sunday evening. The drivers will do 71 laps at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez. The finish is expected around 20:30.
This edition of the Mexican GP will be exciting again. On Friday we saw the Mercedes drivers being the fastest in the first free practice and the Dutchman in the second free practice. On Saturday Verstappen didn't manage to take pole position, but as we have seen in previous years the first corner can bring surprises.
The circuit in Mexico City lies at an altitude of over 2000 metres. This means that the engines of the cars will perform differently. In the past we have often seen the Red Bull perform well here. The Mercedes engine often struggled at this altitude. This year, the cars are even more evenly matched. In short, we can expect a race full of spectacle.
