Guenther Steiner has been asked by readers of The Athletic which person he would most like to see come to Haas F1. The team boss does not choose Max Verstappen, as he does not think his team can win with the Red Bull Racing driver at the moment. With Adrian Newey, it might be able to.

"I will take Adrian Newey because I’m sure he can make a car which can win. The answer is quite obvious. Even if you take Max (Verstappen) with our car, we wouldn’t win. I think if we had a Red Bull, Nico could win races and Kevin," explained Steiner.

The 58-year-old Italian Swiss was also asked the following question: if you had to live on a desert island for a week with only one other person from the paddock who would it be and why?

"In the old days, it would be Mattia (Binotto, Ferrari’s former team principal) because we could have been drinking a lot of wine, but obviously, he’s not around anymore," said Steiner, further pondering another answer.

"From another team, Toto (Wolff, Mercedes’ team principal) is always interesting. We have to not agree on a lot of things, but we will discuss them after the sun goes down. If you joke, you need to have a sparring partner. You cannot joke with somebody who doesn’t get the joke because then it’s not a joke, you know? And Toto gets it pretty well," Steiner said.
