Toto Wolff is happy with the recovery of his Mercedes team in the Azerbaijan GP weekend. The qualifying went a lot better than the first and second free practice and that is more than satisfying for the German camp. Mercedes are confident of a good result on Sunday.

Mercedes solves problem

At least Mercedes did their homework properly, with Hamilton on the front row of the grid. So what exactly was the problem on Friday? "It's all interlinked it's not just one thing. It's about the aerobalance and deciding about the right about of downforce. Temperatures in the tyres and the balance. We debated it and we have a low downforce configuration and a higher one."
Bottas did not get further than a tenth place in qualifying. The Finn also drove with a different set-up, but according to Wolff, that was not the difference."Valtteri opted for the higher downforce configuration and Lewis opted for low downforce configuration but there is not a lot in it.
"The long runs were very good and I would say they were on the same pace as the Red Bulls so, I think we have a decent shot at a good result tomorrow." said the Austrian.

Poor Enzo66. Trying to make a point but so clueless. Russell is a MB driver...so not the first time in the car. How can he have done equal or better if Hamilton wasn't in the race? Oh, you must mean that Russell got two fastest laps, won the race twice, got two pole positions and won 8 titles on that weekend. Yes...now I agree, he did better. Hamilton is not special at all. He is one of the GOAT. You are special...mentally special.

"We're on the same level as Red Bull".
Did I miss something. Where did he say that. Its clear in Baku RB is miles ahead. What sort of shit reporting is this twisting words. Lewis might pull off something special but then Max can pull away at the start. 3 different cars very excited. Won't mind Charles 1st Lewis 2nd and Max 11th

"The long runs were very good and I would say they were on the same pace as the Red Bulls so, I think we have a decent shot at a good result tomorrow"

This is were he says .You did miss. Friday practice showed that merc were competitive with RB on long runs.RB is neither miles ahead.Today's quali too confirmed..Ofcourse merc were slower but not "miles" slower as you say so that u can rule merc out of contention. If you want to give a meaning to miles ahead then this what you can phrase it "Merc was the only team that was miles ahead in 2020"

PS:Iam not a RB/Max fan. Whoever tries to beat dominance i would love that as an F1 fan because i dont like dominance either..

Did you not read? "...were on the same pace as the Red Bulls.....". Can you give proof RB is miles ahead in Baku? Why would you say this? Is it maybe to "proof" that Hamilton and Leclerc are better drivers than Verstappen because if he does not win despite a better car this is the proof? I think there is proof enough MB has had the better car the last 7 or 8 years and still has. Proof that Hamilton is not that special driver is that Russel as stand inn did the same job or better when for the first time in that car.
