Given the current state of the Red Bull Racing team, questions about Max Verstappen's future are arising again. Should the Dutchman stay with Red Bull, or would he be better off moving to another team? And if so, which? Jan Lammers shared his thoughts on these questions in a conversation with
GPblog. He thinks Aston Martin is a good option for Verstappen.
"From a commercial point of view, I think a team like Aston Martin could offer him a lot. Then I would expect Fernando Alonso to become the sporting director or something, taking a step back, and then you just have a fantastic team." Verstappen in Saudi Arabia
What does Verstappen need from an F1 team?
Lammers set clear conditions for this move to the team from Silverstone. "That's commercially and whatnot, but Aston Martin also needs to be able to offer clear guarantees that Max can win races and go for the championship there."
The former
F1 driver would prefer the reigning world champion moved to a team that can offer him guarantees.
"The team that can clearly offer a perspective and has a car and environment that can become world champion, that's what Max would be interested in," says Lammers.
