He has completed 32 Grands Prix in
Formula 1, but
George Russell still doesn't have any points. At the Nürburgring he drove another strong race, until
Kimi Raikkonen knocked him out.
Two eleventh places are Russell's best result so far in
Formula 1 and now there are only four drivers in the history of
Formula 1 who drove more races without scoring points. An illustrious list that certainly does not do justice to the talent of the 22-year-old British driver.
Disappointing
Russel expresses his disappointment to
Speedweek.com.
"Of course it's disappointing. In the previous lap I was able to overtake Sebastian Vettel on the chicane, but Seb passed me at the start/finish thanks to DRS. I knew Kimi Raikkonen was there too and I gave him a lot of space inside, but then he slipped into my car", the
Williams driver says about the moment his race was over.
"Too bad, because my car felt good. At the moment everything seems to be conspiring against us."No blame
Despite his disappointment, Russell does not blame Raikkonen.
"In these cars the wheels lock up like crazy, especially when you are driving in the air vortexes of your opponents. I can't stay mad at him.” Williams hasn't scored any points so far this season and the last points finish already dates back to the
German Grand Prix (28 July 2019).
"We must continue to work hard and improve. But sometimes you need a little luck", concludes Russell.
