'Not Albon, but the second Red Bull is the problem'

The Portuguese Grand Prix was unique in several ways: For example, the race was held at Portimao for the first time and Lewis Hamilton broke the record for the most victories achieved, previously held by Michael Schumacher. But that is not the only thing that is talked about in the Formula 1 world.

Mika Hakkinen is full of praise for both Mercedes drivers in his column for Unibet, but he also has a lot to say about Red Bull Racing. Hakkinen thinks they could have achieved better results with a different choice of tyres, but also thinks Alexander Albon is being short-changed.

"Red Bull Racing could have had a stronger race if they had started on the medium tyres. Max Verstappen started off strong, but then fell back. As I've said before, the problem with Red Bull is that they usually only have one car per race. Alex Albon had another tough race and finished a lap behind his teammate," said the Finn.

He continues: "This is unusual because Alex is clearly a skilled driver like Pierre Gasly. The problem seems to be the second Red Bull car. I'm sure Christian Horner can see how important it is that they find a solution quickly."

"Maybe the setup of the car is too specific to Verstappen. It is clear that Pierre has become much more competitive since returning to the Red Bull junior team," concludes the two-times World Champion.
