The crazy Formula 1 season was mainly about two drivers: Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The title fight will be discussed for a long time and according to David Coulthard, Verstappen's controversial and brilliant driving style will certainly not go unnoticed in those discussions.
The season was full of exciting overtakes and duels, but incidents and collisions also played a big part. The Dutchman is often determined and exactly that attitude and driving style is what affected Hamilton psychologically. The seven-time World Champion managed to win several championships without too much fuss, but the Red Bull Racing driver's approach created tension for the German team.
"Verstappen doesn't fear anyone. That's not part of his psyche. The thing that I find most impressive is, if there is a gap, he goes for it. There’s not even a doubt. That's how Verstappen got in the psyche of Lewis," the Scot told Channel 4.
Resembles Senna and Schumacher
The 24-year-old driver is now finally World Champion and according to Coulthard that is because of his fighting spirit. He's controversial at times, but he's also a brilliant person and athlete. The former Formula 1 driver believes that he deserves to be compared to Ayrton Senna and Michael Schumacher.
