After six seasons at Ferrari Sebastian Vettel went to Aston Martin in 2021. Otmar Szafnauer is extremely satisfied and has been praising Vettel for his contribution to the team.
Ferrari decided to give Carlos Sainz a contract, so the German had to look for a new seat. He ended up at Aston Martin where they could put his experience to good use. The Aston Martin team boss was very happy with his results and attitude within the team.
"He's such a man of integrity; he works hard, has a great work ethic, leaves no stone unturned. I wasn't surprised, but I was still happy that what I thought he was, was confirmed by his actions," said the engineer at Motorsportweek.
Constantly improving himself
It took some time before the 34-year old driver could show what he was worth, but after four races he knew enough about the team and the car and was able to post good results. The Aston Martin driver got faster with every race, but even in a race itself he knows how to constantly improve himself by watching other drivers. "For me, that's his biggest asset," he said.
